We have over 250 volunteers who all play a vital role in the work of Age Concern Bradford & District.
There are lots of different ways you can get involved and we have volunteering activities to suit everyone - whatever your age, skill and background.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Shop Volunteer
Working in one of our charity shops - duties can involve handling cash, operating a till, helping customers with enquries, sorting through stock and windows displays.
Switchboard Volunteer
Working in the general office - answering customer phone calls, taking messages, administration and dealing with the post.
Trading Volunteer
Working in the public information office - handling cash, operating a till, writing receipts, stamping insurance leaflets and welcoming customers.
Information Office Volunteer
Working in the public information office - helping customers with confidential problems e.g. advice on benefits, making phone calls, using a computer, recording enquiries.
I.T. Project Volunteer
Working in the IT Training Suite or at satellite suites in Keighley and Shipley- teaching customers how to surf the internet and send and receive emails.
Keighley over 50's Volunteer & Denholme Elders Volunteer
Greeting customers at public drop in, making tea/sandwiches, clearing tables, washing up and making people feel welcome in a social and friendly environment.
Office Volunteer
Working in a general office - filing, photocopying, mail outs, data entry and administration.
Befriending Volunteer
Making weekly visits to the home of an older person to provide a supportive friendship and improve quality of life.
Walk From Home Volunteer
Working with older people to help improve health and well being.
Encouraging older people to go for walks to maintain & increase levels of mobility and to try and prevent them from becoming socially isolated.
Helping Hands Volunteer
Visiting older people at home to do small DIY jobs to enable them to remain safely in their home e.g. fitting door chains, fitting grab rails and changing lightbulbs.
